RAKIYA

Rakiya (Belgique)

Rakiya est d'origine Berbère et Espagnole. Ses parents sont passionés de musique Egyptienne et toute son enfance sera bercée par Farid, Abdelhalim et Abdelwahab.
En 2005 elle crée "Arabesque", une asbl qui regroupe une troupe de danseuses, une école de danse, une association humanitaire pour promouvoir l'enseigenement des filles dans le grand sud Marocain, et une boutique.
Passionnée par la musique, elle inaugure en 2008 un nouvel espace "cabaret oriental" avec musiciens live. Chaque mois Rakiya se rend au Caire pour continuer sa formation.
Son style est dynamique et théâtral ! Elle enseigne et se produit en Europe et en Afrique du nord.

Rakiya is of Berber and Spanish origin. Her parents have apassionfor Egyptian music and she grew up surrounded by Farid,Abdelhalim and Abdelwahab.
Rakiya created "Arabesque" in 2005, anon-profit making organizationgathering a dancing company, a dancing school, a humanitarian association promoting the schooling of girls in South Morocco, as well as a dedicated shop.
A music enthusiast, she opened a new "cabaret oriental" in 2008, with musicians performing live. Each month,Rakiya flies to Cairo for further training.
Her style is both dynamic and dramatic! She teaches and performs in Europe and NorthAfrica.
